I Lived Through Colorado's 4th Biggest Snowstorm

 BOOOOOYAHHHH!

Thank God, our neighborhood didn't have any power outages. The lights flickered a couple of times and the internet was a bit slow and sometimes conked out for a few minutes. Other than that, we had an uneventful weekend.

The snow starting coming down in flurries around 10 am on Saturday 3/13/2021. It was wet and depressing when we looked outside. The weatherman (who should never be trusted but for some odd reason we believe them wholeheartedly) said the storm would start Friday night and cautioned all of us Denverites to not make plans that night. Like a faithful follower, I didn't make any plans. The last thing I wanted to do was go to someone's house and be stuck there all weekend. Depending on the friend, that might not be a terrible thing but...didn't really want to risk it.

By Sunday morning, we had maybe 6 inches and it kept coming down all day!!! I tried going out around 1 pm that afternoon, but the snow was in my face. I took a few pictures and headed back inside. A few cars had gotten stuck on our street. I hadn't seen a plow once the whole day. A few Jeeps and Ford trucks have gotten through no problem, of course. Many people were outside during the afternoon brushing off their cars or helping others gain traction as they tried to proceed to their destinations.

Monday morning rolled around it was calm and sunny. According to reports, we just had the 4th largest (though some say 2nd) snowstorm in Colorado history!! Big deal!! As I always do, I walked around the neighborhood to take some pictures. Enjoy!

2021 -- Not Much Happening

We just started the month of March and Covid is still raging sadly...so...I have not done a whole lot of exciting things this year. So this post will be mostly about food I've made and my snow adventures. I have tried some new recipes as well as made some delicious favorites like Cajun Chicken Lasagna. If you love spice, you're going to loooveeee this.

Coconut Macaroons
Spinach Ravioli
Lava Cake
Cornbread waffles
Taaaaccoooss!!
Homemade BBQ chicken pizza
Cajun Chicken Lasagna

Side note, I did go ice skating to Evergreen again with some friends. They separated the rink into small circles because....ya know...COVID. It was COOLLLDDDD and very windy but fun. One of the people who went with us had just bought a Porsche....real fancy and he let us drive it around a little bit. Apparently, it can go 100 miles an hour. No, we did not go that fast. But the seats were NIIIICCCEE! Maybe I'll get a Porsche....kidding. I'm probably going to get a Jeep.

Here are some pictures of Denver's first major 2021 snowstorm. Enjoy!
