We took turns using a hand saw to cut it down. It wasn't huge but it did take some effort before yelling TIMBERRRRRRRRRRR! It was a gorgeous day for a hike/tree cutting. I had no idea this was a thing but glad Caitlin roped us into this adventure. There were quite a few people already hunting in the National Forrest when we arrived around 9am. Cars were coming out in droves with evergreens on the top of their cars or in their truck beds. It was a peaceful and exciting day!
June 1st 2015 is when I'm moving almost across the entire United States to my new home. For the first few months, I will be living at the Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing then afterwards exploring the rest of Colorado! This is a blog about my adventures.

#YesToTheTree
Yesterday, I did something for the first time. I cut down a Christmas tree...with the help of my roommates. Caitlin, who has done this before, lead the charge. My other roommate, Julia, came along as well. Neither of us had done this so we were a tad out of our element but it was a lot of fun. Exhausting too. I wanted to bring my water bottle when we went looking for a tree, but knew I'd be helping carry it. Towards the end of the hunt, I was getting dehydrated and tired but finding a tree is no easy feat, I now know. We probably scrutinized at least 6 trees before finding one where we all said, YES!
