It's been a rough month especially the last two weeks.
The first two months of 2020 got off to a great start. While my new job was overwhelming, I was starting to get the hang of things in February. Sure, there's still a lot to learn but I was definitely loving this position better than my last.
As of the 16th of March, Dental Lifeline Network switched to remote. Apart from two people being in the office everyday to handle logistics, the majority of the staff were working from home. Soon after, the entire city was working from home apart from essential workers like post office employees, grocery store clerks, gas station attendants, etc. Now, when 4 P.M. hits, everyone is outside walking or riding a bike. We are all tired of being cooped up inside all day and need some FRESH AIR!!
Sure, there are benefits of working from home like when I take a break from work I can do laundry, or clean. I don't have to figure out what I'm going to eat for lunch while I'm making myself breakfast in the morning. There is no commute -- unless you count the 20 steps it takes from my room to the dining room table. The downsides are that I hardly ever come close to my 10,000 steps goal everyday. The gym is closed so I do workouts on YouTube in my room -- not ideal. I kind of like getting out of my apartment and doing things.
I know I shouldn't complain since so many have lost their jobs. Others are in the hospital with COVID-19. Life could be worse. I'm a healthy 20-something and have the opportunities to ride my bike down the Cherry Creek Trail. I can go to the grocery store. I can write on my blog or work on a short story. I can watch movies.
Who knows when life will go back to normal, but I think the important thing is to count your blessings. Now more than ever we need to lean on each other, instead of pointing fingers and snubbing each other. We are ALL in this together.
Glad you are counting your blessings and encouraging others to do the same! Thanks. And thanks to the Lord for all He is doing behind the scenes in answer to prayer!
